Carberry earned his first win on Petronelli in August 1990. He learned his trade through hunting and show-jumping and is one of Ireland’s leading jump jockeys.

In 1993, Carberry won the Champion Bumper which was his first win at the Cheltenham Festival. Arguably the biggest win of his career was when he won the Grand National at Aintree Racecourse in 1999.
